Method Statement for Cutting and Patching Works:
Purpose and Scope:
This method statement is to provide base and outline for the procedure of Cutting and Patching works to caring out a Safe and Quality work of Floor, Ceiling and Wall as per Cutting and Patching Specification. Cutting and Patching Work Method Statement

- Approval from related discipline (Ex. Structural, MEP, etc.)

Procedure or Work Methodology:
General Instructions:
- Examine existing conditions prior to commencing Work, including elements subject to damage or movement during cutting and patching. Like gypsum board system or suspended ceiling or stone and tiles flooring. Shall be assess condition of existing.
- After uncovering existing work assess conditions affecting performance of work.

Preparation:
- Provide temporary supports to ensure structural integrity of the work.
- Provide protection from elements for areas which may be exposed by uncovering work.

- Provide openings in the work for penetration of mechanical and electrical work.
- Employ skilled and experienced installer to perform cutting for weather exposed and moisture resistant elements, and sight exposed surfaces.

Application of Patching Work:
- Execute patching to complement adjacent Work.
- Fit products together to integrate with other work

- Employ skilled and experienced installer to perform patching for weather exposed and moisture resistant elements, sight exposed surfaces.
- Communication shall be by mobile devices at the time of cutting patching works.

- Masons (4)
- Helpers (4)
Tool and Equipment:
- Grander
- Fire extinguisher
Time Scale:
- Time scale shall be approximately 3 to 4 days as per activities and as per site condition.
Emergency Procedure and Arrangements:
Refer to: Emergency Response Plan submitted to consultant and still under review. Once approved SAB ensure it will be implemented effectively.
Conducted by job supervisor to brief workers about jobs specific hazards.
Conduct site inspection to ensure access/egress is adequate for the task activities. Maintain good housekeeping of the work area.
- Lone working is not allowed.
- Ensure work area housekeeping is properly maintained.
- Use correct tools for the job. Do not use a tool or attachment for something it was not designed to.
- Follow LOTO Procedure strictly when needed-when required.
- Only competent/authorized person shall be assigned for the task.
- Emergency evacuation routes and procedure shall be reminded regularly to the site staff by construction and SHE team.
- Be familiar with emergency response procedure.
- Any obstructions from pathways must be removed.
Health and Safety Risk and Control:
- Ensure work permit and supporting documents i.e. RAMS are signed and approved prior commencing to activity.
- Approved RAMS to be made available at the site and Job Specific hazards and control measure to be communicated to all personnel involved in the job.
- Ensure that all PPE is assessed for suitability for job, limitations, capability, and compatibility with other PPE.

- Ensure workers were trained about manual handling technique.
- Avoiding unnecessary heavy manual handling of materials use mechanical equipment.
- All personnel shall attend safety induction/training prior to start any job at site.
- Pre-job STARRT/TBT meeting shall be conducted by job supervisor to brief workers about job specific hazards.
- Conduct site inspection to ensure access/egress is adequate for the task activities.
- Maintain good housekeeping of the work area.
- Lone working is not allowed.
- Ensure work area housekeeping is properly maintained.
- Use correct tools for the job. Do not use a tool or attachment for something it was not designed to. Ensure tools undergone inspection by a competent person and record must keep. Colour coded as required.
- Follow LOTO procedure strictly when needed – when required.
- Only competent/authorized person shall be assigned for the task.
- Emergency evacuation routes and procedure shall be reminded regularly to the site staff by construction and SHE team.
- Be familiar with emergency response procedure
- Any obstructions from pathways must be removed.
- Emergency contact lists shall be posted at site.
- Ensure working environment has a space for handling operations and ensuring that walking surfaces are free of obstructions.
